    1. This does raise the question:
Do the actors win Oscars because their great performances?
or do they win because they get great character roles?

  2. Ellen Burstyn turned down the role of Nurse Ratched in ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ and it was given to Louise Fletcher, for which she won Best Actress at the 1976 Academy Awards. I thought that should’ve been on the list

  3. Hell it would be the same if you gave the role to Nicholas cage lol, just wouldn’t have worked, too much ham 😛

  4. Just because Forrest Gump won an Oscar doesn’t mean it still would with Travolta in it, seriously can any of you actually imagine john Travolta pulling off that role????

  5. Just because one actor/actress won an award for a performance that doesn’t exactly mean another actor/actress is going to win the same award for their performance

  6. they won not just for the characters they played, but for their performance, or rather, especially because of their performance.. swapping actors doesn’t guarantee the same results

  7. Actually, Watson was chosen to play Mia in La La Land during when she was filming Beauty and The Beast. She chose to finish Beauty and the Beast instead.

  8. Of course if they had taken the part it might not have been oscar winning. Those who won the oscars were perfect for the part.
